Annual report 2015 – a unique and complex industry

ECHAMP’s annual report for 2015 is now available to download from our website. Public opinion on homeopathy in the UK

New research shows that 80% of the British population are aware of homeopathy, and 79% open to it. A lack of information and understanding are the highest barriers to use.

Taxation of ethanol used in the production of medicinal products

A recent ruling by the European Court of Justice confirms that there is no obligation to pay tax on ethanol used for cleaning purposes during the production of medicinal products. This ruling has additional implications for the manufacturers of homeopathic medicinal products.

EU market for homeopathic and anthroposophic medicines grows by over 6% a year

The market for homeopathic and anthroposophic medicinal products in the EU is growing by 6.5% a year. It is now valued at €1.24 billion per year which represents 7% of the total EU market for non-prescription products. ECHAMP’s new report, ‘Homeopathic and Anthroposophic Medicinal Products in the EU – Profile of an industry 2015,’ provides a comprehensive review of the sector and, for the first time, profiling in detail this unique industry.
