New European standards for homeopathic doctors

Aug 23, 2016

A new standard has been approved by the Member States of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for the requirements of health care provision by medical doctors with additional qualification in homeopathy and standardisation of specifications of their services. This European standard specifies the minimum requirements for medical doctors with additional qualification in homeopathy and their services.

CEN is an association that brings together the national standardisation bodies of 33 European countries. This new standard is not applicable to services provided by those who are not medical doctors, nor to the preparation of homeopathic medicines, nor to the methodology and practice of homeopathic provings.

The final official text with translations will be available from 19 October.

This comes as a results of hard work by the European Committee for Homeopathy to create a common platform for homeopathic medical practice. With this CEN standard, homeopathy has achieved a major step forward at the level of the recognition of its professional standards.
