Homeopathy and anthroposophic medicine are long-standing traditions in the EU, which is the major world producer of homeopathic and anthroposophic medicinal products.
In 2013, the EU market for homeopathic and anthroposophic medicinal products was valued at €1,237 million (ex-factory prices). This represents 7% of the EU market for non-prescription products, although this figure is as high as 15% in one mature market. From 2010 to 2013, the average annual growth was 6.5%.
The Central and Eastern European markets are growing faster than those in Western Europe, but these more established markets are also home to high and increasing awareness of homeopathy.
